Iris bed down in this South-East flower bed, combined with Roses, garden
decorations and a fun water fountain. As the Iris fade away, the roses take their place
in heighth, then begins the smaller petals of a variety of flowers. Sitting in a
comfortable swing, sipping morning coffee and looking at the beauty of these Iris,
sure brought joy as the early morning birds sang their cheery songs.
Take a photo of your garden area then send it to The Gardeners Glove. Maybe you have a
favorite spot in your yard that everyone would enjoy looking at and getting ideas for their
own yard. A beautiful flower that grew or a nice row of pansies resting around a water
fountain, whatever the photo, we here at 'The Gardeners Glove" would like to see your
creations.

Iris are a harder plant and will grow most any place. These were given to me in plastic sacks,
most leaves having brown on the tops and looked pretty bad. I took them out, cut the leaves on
a slant and began to plant each one on the West side of the house. In two months they grew
from about 4 inches to beyond the top of the house siding. Beautiful deep purple Iris buds
began by late June. About every 2 feet or so, I planted a beautiful rose bush and then had pink
geraniums towards the front of the rocks. This is showing the plants in early Fall after the first
freeze. A thin netting is hung down from the eves of the house, this detours the local deer from
nibbling on the fresh rose buds. Just working with the resources at hand, beautiful yard rocks
are used for boarders.
