Violets in the Spring

I thought in my care the little plant would be doomed,
but the very next Spring your Violets bloomed.

Small amounts of water and they love the morning sun,
everyday care is really little to none.

Blossoms popped open of purple and pink,
which sure made my heart sink.

It was a gift from me to you, small at first,
now it grew and grew.

Each week a new flower to my surprise appears,
guess you hear my heartfelt sighs and see my tears.

A piece of you is here to stay,
resting peacefully is what I pray.

Its only been a short while,
but reflections still linger of your style.

So, bloom on violets in the Spring
but listen carefully to the little birds song,
as they carry away all that was wrong.
