Meet "ZoomZoom", this months featured
roadster for the Palm Springs area.

The car came to the owner! Yes, it's true
the smile on the cars front end tells it all.
After weeks of hunting all over the
Coachella Valley, Dianne Lieber found her
dream car.
You know how it is, you pick up the newspaper look in the want ads for vehicles all to get very
discouraged. Craigslist to the rescue was just the start of this adventure into looking for a
small car that would serve the needs of a woman starting her "new view" in the desert lands.
I'll try to begin the story by adding that after several test drives of other vehicles, I came back
time and again to the style of the Mazda Miata. Why? Because I am 5'2 and petite that's why. I
needed a small car that would fit my tiny body, yet make a statement that I had arrived in PS,
and this was my new look for my 'new' life. I drove a black Ford SUV, lots of room, but had to
think of the current gasoline prices. Then came the PT Cruiser, fun car, but couldn't see out
the back window very well. Several other types of cars were considered, but I just didn't feel
they were right for me. Then one morning I surfed on Craigslist and found a bright red
roadster that really caught my eye. I started to reply to the ad, when I was called away to drive
into Palm Springs to
the drugstore to pick up a prescription. All the time thinking, I'm going to
miss out on this ad as it will be gone by the time I get back home. Pulled into the parking lot of
the drugstore where low and behold there sat the same bright red roadster I had just looked at
on the Craigslist ad. It couldn't be, I thought to myself. Yep, it was, still had the "
For Sale" sign
in the back window and the price written in bold black marker. The car was all I had imagined,
beautiful condition, great features and just sitting there waiting for me. The owner of the car
was in the drugstore, so I went in trying to find he/she, but didn't have much luck. My sister
stood behind the car waiting as I frantically searched for the tiny cars owner so that I could tell
them I wanted to buy "that" car, today!!! Another car drives by and then stops at the back of
the Miata while my sister was standing there and notices the "
For Sale" sign and sister quickly
answers, "the car is already sold", so the on-looker drives away. Finally the owner comes out
of the drugstore and I ask her if that red car with the for sale sign, is hers? Yes, she replies, I
said, well I just looked at the ad on Craigslist and I can't believe it's sitting here. She, smiles
and asks me if I want to take it for a test drive. Well, the rest as they say is history.............
I am the proud owner of "Zoom-Zoom".
